Nelson's Column
Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square. It was erected in 1843 to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson who died defeating Napoleon at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The monument was constructed between 1840 and 1843 and is 169 feet 3 inches (51.6 meters) high.
