Day 6 After spending a leisurely start to the day we left Banff for the relatively short journey of 220km to Revelstoke.
Taking a scenic drive along Highway 1A towards Lake Louise taking in Castle Mountain, we then took Highway 1 passing through Yoho National Park. It has to be said that the scenic value of the overall journey that day diminished compared to that of the Icefields Parkway, particularly in and around the town of Golden. The one aspect of this journey which I regret not taking more time over, was at Kicking Horse Pass for the Canadian Pacific Railway Spiral Tunnels. This was a real feat of civil engineering, especially for its time.
Our journey took us over Rogers Pass before descending into Revelstoke in time for late afternoon tea!
