These photographs were taken by me in July 2001 during a family touring holiday that started in Florida and ended in Boston. For me, this was the pinnacle of the trip as like so many others of my generation I well remember the race during the 60’s to send man to the moon. Seeing the exhibits at close quarters you simply had to marvel at the scale and technical advances that had been made in pursuit of the ‘dream’ leading to the fantastic achievement with the first lunar landing by two of the Apollo 11 crew on 20th July 1969.
The Kennedy Space Centre is a ‘must visit’ when touring the USA, but be prepared for a long day.
