This section of my web site contains a small selection of photographs which I have put together from my personal library built up over the last forty years. As time and server space permits I will add more images to the web site library. Most of my personal library images are in the form of prints and 35 mm slides and negatives.
In 2002 I purchased my first digital camera, a Fuji F602 Zoom, which I used for four years before acquiring my current camera, a Nikon D80 with 18-200 VR Lens.
For the 35 mm slides and negatives I used my Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II. Although it has a capability to scan at 2800 dpi, to maintain sensible file sizes most were scanned at 1000-1500dpi. For printed media I used my Canon Lide 30 flat bed scanner, a good all round scanner at a sensible price.
Most images have been saved in JPG format, which provides a good balance between photo quality and practical file size. To maintain sensible download times, especially for those of you on dial-up circuits, thumbnail images are generally in the range of 1-2 Kb and enlarged images are in the range 30-150 Kb.
Where possible, file dimensions will be given on the appropriate page where they substantially deviate from the information given here.
