Introduction This is a selection of photographs taken during a cruise on the Cunard Caronia in June 2003. Lynn and I are recent converts to this style of holiday which offers five star treatment, good food and drink, opportunity to meet interesting people and enjoy life at a leisurely pace whilst visiting far off locations.
The ten day cruise took us to Vigo, Madeira, Tenerife and Lisbon and covered 3,321 nautical miles.
Although thirty years old, the Caronia has a certain graceful presence and a good passenger to crew ratio - some 600/400 respectively.
Whilst on-board we learnt that the ship was being phased out of service towards the end of 2004 in readiness for the Queen Victoria, due Spring 2005. I guess the crew will have mixed feelings when saying goodbye to Caronia and working on the new ship designed to take some 1800 passengers.
We look forward to taking another cruise next year and maybe cross paths again with some of our fellow travellers who made the journey so pleasant.
