Introduction This is a selection of photographs taken during our holiday to Alaska in July 2004. The trip will be long remembered by Lynn and myself for the scenery, transportation, weather, lack of wildlife and the people we met along the way.
During the thirteen day period from leaving Vancouver, we spent seven days at sea on the Celebrity Summit cruise ship sailing up to Seward taking the 1000 mile inside passage and calling in Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, Hubbard Glacier and Icy Strait Point.
The other six days was spent on a post cruise tour from Seward via Anchorage to Denali National Park and Talkeetna. Known as Tour 17, the combined coach and train travel was without doubt made more memorable for the information gained from the very knowledgeable tour director (Jesse), the considerate driving by our ace coach driver (Wade) and the laughter, jokes and chat shared with the 40+ people on the trip.
The photographs have been arranged by locations visited or lumped into the cruise and Tour 17 where appropriate. The holiday was part of a one month combined trip to Western Canada and a selection of photographs for that part of the trip appear in the section entitled Canada.
