This was the first port of call after leaving Corfu. After a short journey by tender from Emerald, anchored just off the coast, we arrived at Rovinj. Our first impressions were of a peaceful and delightful town going about it's business on a Sunday morning. The experience was made all the more enjoyable by the now warm sunshine.
Exploring the many narrow alleyways soon revealed a town with character, pastel-washed houses and good photographic opportunity. Although a number of shops were open, there was a tranquility and lack of commercialism that gave an air of charm about the place, made all the more pleasurable by additional stopovers at the many quiet bars.
We made a further trip to the town that day to sample the night-time ambience before Emerald departed for it's next port of call, Trieste.
