Introduction Part of our holiday included a seven day cruise on the Celebrity Cruise Ship 'Summit', which sailed from Vancouver to Seward during the period 2nd - 9th July 2004.
Day 4 (Skagway) This gallery contains a small selection of photos taken during our stopover at the second Alaskan port of call.
We left the ship and took a twenty mile ride on the White Pass and Yukon Railroad, described as the "Scenic Railway of the World" Built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, the narrow gauge railroad is billed as an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.
The views were spectacular in places and well worth the journey, made all the more interesting by standing on the platform of the rear observation coach and taking in the scenery and occasional large drops!.
